Hardly a day goes by without an announcement of another Eurovision themed book in Finland, as publishers want to be part of the Eurovision fever gripping the country. A book on Eurovision trivia is scheduled for release in January. It will be edited by Ismo Loivamaa and Juha Seitajärvi and called Euroviisutriviaa vuosi vuodelta (Eurovision trivia year by year). The book will dig up the best Eurovision memories and the most incredible Eurovision stories. The book will give answers to important questions, like which Eurovision artists have given concerts in Finland, who has sold the most records or who broke the TV transmission with their charisma. Also we find out what Seija Simola, Cliff Richard or Dana International are doing now. The book will also include a quiz section, where readers can test their lever of Eurovision fandom. The book will be published by Helmi Kustannus F-Kustannus has a book called Suomen Euroviisut kautta aikojen (Finnish Eurovision songs of all time) for a February release. Edited by Ari Leskelä, it will have complete printed music and lyrics for all 40 Finnish Eurovision entries. It will also have background information of the songs, the artists on stage and backstage and their positions in the contest. Text for the book has been written by all-round musician and Eurovision fan Petri Kaivanto.
A Finnish edition of John OConnors book The Eurovision Song Contest the Official History (Euroviisut virallinen historia) will be released in April. OConnor has written a new section on Finland in Eurovision for this edition, so Lordis victory in Athens will be included. The publisher is Ajatus Kirjat. We have already reported of Asko Murtomäkis history book on Finland in Eurovision, Finland 12 Points! to be released in January by Teos. Jussi Ahlroths biography on Mr. Lordi, Mie oon Lordi has been in the shops for a week now. It has been criticized for not including enough new revelations on the nations favourite monsters, and Mr. Lordi still comes across as a thoroughly nice guy in a monster mask. Helsingin Sanomat review in English Ilta-Sanomat reports the books sales have not taken off as expected in Finnish book stores. The print run is 10 000 books. Mr. Lordi will sign books in Helsinkis Academic Bookstore on Friday, 17th November, which is expected to give a boost to the slow start of sales.
